[A week has gone and past, as has the first of your number. The Researcher revealing himself, more or less, by punishing Patches, the Trusty, for pushing an unclear boundary.]

[And yet, routine seems to have returned. The Researcher makes morning and evening announcements as if nothing has happened. Meals are served in the dining hall. The copies of Oregon Trail in the computer lab now have a text-only mode for some reason? Penny has not been seen since Friday, and attempts to access the Security Room have been fruitless.]

[But overall, life in the Facility has remained unchanged. But the atmosphere is getting tenser - sooner or later something is going to break.]

[It might be an...unconventional way to set up a meeting, but Izuku doesn't particularly mind it or find it overly strange. It's...almost comforting, something that he feels like is needed given everything that's been happening so far. So after running back to his room to grab his own notebook and other pertinent things, he returns and comes into the makeshift blanket fort.

He'll sit nearish to across from where Neku is sitting, writing in his own notebook before handing off a book that he found in the library earlier in the week.]

I've been holding onto this book I found at the library. It's mostly information about the technological advances of elevators. That's not the interesting part, though.

Whoever had this book last has been writing in it, and I think it was written in before we all got here.

[Neku reads through the book quickly, snorting at the mascots. Then pondering]

looks like the original writer was someone learning about the modern world for the first time and planning on taking what they learned back with them? all of us seem to be from really different places too. thinking there was another experiment before ours? maybe even more than one, with these added notes.

[Neku returns to the circled part 'seen through a lens'. Are they talking about something like glasses or a camera?]

[He mumbles to himself, not thinking to write.]

Cosmo... like a telescope?

[He pulls his book over and compares the handwriting between his homebrew class and the added notes to L.M's book]

Look, it's the same.

[He holds them out for everyone to see.]

[passed over in Veronica's absurdly neat and legible handwriting:]

scope, n. - an instrument used for viewing
so like a telescope, but for seeing the universe/space
probably how they found us?

[Izuku is quiet for a moment, thoughtful as he reads over Neku's notes.]

It isn't too much of a stretch to assume something like that to be the case, I'd think. Do you think Penny would know if there's been another experiment before?

You're probably right, Sakuraba-kun. Though I don't think it would hurt to ask, at least...even if she doesn't know, she might remember something useful otherwise.
