[A week has gone and past, as has the first of your number. The Researcher revealing himself, more or less, by punishing Patches, the Trusty, for pushing an unclear boundary.]

[And yet, routine seems to have returned. The Researcher makes morning and evening announcements as if nothing has happened. Meals are served in the dining hall. The copies of Oregon Trail in the computer lab now have a text-only mode for some reason? Penny has not been seen since Friday, and attempts to access the Security Room have been fruitless.]

[But overall, life in the Facility has remained unchanged. But the atmosphere is getting tenser - sooner or later something is going to break.]

A CHALLENGER ARRIVES

[hyaku]

[It's a liiiittle bit into the competition, when Shigeo notices that his station is missing a very important ingredient.... flour. They're missing flour. He could go into the kitchen to get some more but honestly he's not good with this kind of stuff, so he's worried that he might grab something that looks like flour instead.

He looks over at his other team's stations but.. well.... he's not that close to them and they look like they've got enough on their plate so what does he decide to do?

He decides to walk over to the opposing team, a measuring cup in his hand. And of course he approaches Izuku out of all of them.]

Midoriya-kun, we don't have flour. Can I borrow some?

[mightdoriya]

Mm? [Izuku had finally been getting started with one of the groups, and he's noticed by now too that they're...definitely missing some things. He can't help but wonder if it was an innocent mistake on Penny's part, or if she did it on purpose. The fact that Shigeo is coming to him for ingredients though tells him that it's probably the latter... Since they're competing, it would be smarter for Izuku to refuse and leave Shigeo's team with a very bad handicap. If he were in a competition back at UA...he probably would have refused, but also UA wouldn't be holding a competition like this anyway, it would have much higher stakes and less silly stipulations. So after a moment, Izuku smiles softly and moves to one of the cabinets, pulling down a bag of flour.] Of course, Kageyama-kun. How much do you need?

[hyaku]

Um....

[If it looks like Shigeo is at a loss it's because he.. doesn't actually remember how much. But it's probably fine if they end up with a little extra, right?]

This much?

[He points to the rim of the glass.]

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku nods, opening up the bag and taking the cup from Shigeo so he can set it on the table and pour some in.] Oh, that reminds me...our station is missing a whisk. Do you mind if we borrow it for a few minutes?

[hyaku]

Go ahead. It's the least I can do.

[Shigeo gives the other teen a smile, and he heads back for a minute to sneak the whisk from his station while Izuku fills the glass. They probably don't need it immediately, and it is only fair.

He returns with it in hand, and offers it out.]

Here.

Thank you, Kageyama-kun. I'll make sure we get it back to you soon. [He hands over the cup of flour as he says that. Should this be happening...]

[hyaku]

[Probably not... but he'll grab the cup anyway.]

Have you made anything like this before, Midoriya-kun? I've never tried cooking or baking anything before, and I don't think a lot of my teammates have either. But our recipe looks easy, so I think it'll be okay in the end.

It'll probably taste good, at least.

[yes just spill that to the enemy why dont you]

I haven't...I've helped my mom make dinner before? But she usually tells me what she needs me to do, it's not just me following a recipe all on my own. [But like Shigeo's team, theirs seems pretty simple too, so it's probably fine?]

[He looks like someone who probably cooked on his own... Shocked]

That's still more than me. I think you'll be okay if you follow the recipe.. that's kind of like being told what to do.

[Contrary to popular belief, Shigeo, Izuku definitely doesn't know how to do everything ever.] I don't think it will be too hard, no...we're just going to need to work together. [He's already heard the noise coming from your side, Shigeo.]

[hyaku]

[sometimes a family is a screaming crocodile and a 40 year old man making spaghetti in a baking competition]

Mm. You're really good at getting people together, Midoriya-kun. I'm envious.

[He also heard a little bit from your side as well.]

[Oh....Izuku blushes.] Y-yeah? I guess I'm just thinking about how we'd do it at school...it's important for anyone on a team to work together from the start if you want to get anything accomplished.
