Non-Peace Weekend - Investigation

[Two weeks have passed since your arrival. The Researcher has delivered a pair of motives, promising to reward some or punish others if rule 7 is not enacted by the end of the week.]

[Today is Friday, the deadline for your incentives. There is no morning announcement today.]

[Maybe It's nothing, but you might notice a faint, odd metallic scent in the air as you exit your bedrooms this morning.]

[Looks like they're heading in the general direction of the dining room and kitchen.]

[Izuku had seen people heading for the kitchen already, so that's probably covered...he'll follow the prints to the dining room, then, if there's nothing more to check first with the mannequins of course.]

[The footprints kind of trail off after a few feet in that direction, but there's something he might spot shoved off to the side, as he's going.]

[HM...Izuku notices something as he's on his way, so don't mind him as he crouches down to check it out.]

[Sure is a first-aid kit. And yes, there is some blood smeared on the plastic case.]

[That's......strange? It doesn't really seem to line up with anything Izuku has found so far, unless someone was injured and was trying to patch themselves up. He doesn't want to pick it up exactly, but it feels important to check...can he open it without having to touch the bloodied part?]

[Yeah, there's a few smears but it's not, like, covered.]

[Y, Izuku wants to see if whoever grabbed this actually managed to use anything inside.]

[Someone used it for something, at least. At any rate, there's a lot of bloodied gauze shoved back into the case in wads.]

[That's gross...but at the very least informative in some way. So maybe they tried to patch up a wound, but gave up and hid the evidence at the last second. That, or had a very big lack in foresight as to how much blood gauze can actually absorb. Anything else bloodied and/or missing in this kit?]

[Some of the other supplies have blood on them, but it looks like it came from the gauze? Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be anything obviously missing.]

[There seems to be a lot more than meets the eye here, but Izuku can only go on what he's seen. And what he's seen is a hell of a lot to try to sort through. He wonders just how much else there might be that he didn't discover. Once Izuku is finished checking out the kit he'll close it back up with the intention of finding something somewhere to maybe transport it. It doesn't seem wise to just leave this here, but he will for the time being as he makes another cursory sweep of the area with his eyes. Is there anything else he might spot to check out, or is the Foyer clear?]

[Looks clear, unless you want to help poke at the body a little.]

[He can't say it'd be his top pick on a list of things to do, but...even though he only spoke to Yaiba a little, he feels...indirectly responsible, in a way, for his death. All Might told him once that even he couldn't save people he couldn't reach...but what excuse did he have here? He didn't even hear the sounds of a struggle...it's upsetting in a way that's going to bother him for a long time, he knows. So eventually he does wander back to Yaiba's corpse, having to steel himself before he kneels back down beside it again. What sort of state are we looking at, here? He knows the body was discovered at a specific time, but are there any signs of him having been long dead?]

[Well, you were the one who discovered it.]

[The body's cooling? But not cold. And it looks like rigor mortis has started setting in. Presumably Izuku's not a mortician, but this death definitely wasn't SUPER recent, at least.]

[It's actually quite surprising that given everything he's gone through up until this point, he hasn't actually been confronted with a corpse, especially not one he needs to try and investigate. He can at least guess that this body has been here a few hours, and he probably was killed while they were all asleep. Naturally, the body wasn't discovered until people started waking up and smelled blood. So, let's check injuries next. He's...going to avoid looking at his head for as long as he can get away with, focusing his attention on the rest of his body. Are there any other wounds, superficial or otherwise?]

[Nothing obviously out of place, but how thoroughly are you looking?]

[He's hesitant to touch the body, so for now he's looking for things like bruising, scratches, or anything else that might indicate a struggle occurred. Particularly on his hands and arms, but really any other exposed skin too.]

[Nothing out of the ordinary, actually. Looks like you might actually have to try searching the body.]

[THIS....IS HORRIBLE...but Izuku knows that sometimes you have to do stuff that you really, really don't want to do. He just never thought it would be like this.] ...I'm sorry. [He kneels down properly again, first deciding to forego actually wound-checking to instead pat down his clothing in as unobtrusive of a way as possible. He can't help but wonder if Yaiba might not have had anything on him when he was attacked. It might turn up nothing, but it's something to double check.]

[It does, in fact, turn up nothing.]

[Specifically, it might be sort of conspicuous that his electronic ID is missing.]

[Oh that...is actually pretty unusual. Does that mean he got rid of it himself? Someone else took it? Izuku files that away in his mind for later, making a mental note to jot down everything he's found in his notebook once he gets a chance to do so. Izuku probably isn't going to look over the body much more thoroughly than on the surface level, not feeling at all right about trying to shift his clothing to check for wounds. Someone else more qualified might need to do that if necessary. Otherwise, he'll look the body over one more time (head...or lack thereof and all) to make sure there isn't anything else.]
