[Well, there's one kind of big area on the front, in a recessed panel. A subtle etching that reads "YOUR LEARNING PAL" in large, friendly letters.]

[Okay, let's check out this computer. Is there much to be done with it, or is it too burnt?]

[The computer is trashed, melted and inoperable.]

[There is one more thing on the buddybot, though, if Michael's looking at it all over.]

[A little plate near the bottom of the back! Looks to be some identifying information.]

So this is a bad idea but Michael's not the kind of guy who can resist trying - can we like, turn this on?]

[There's a big, kid-friendly power switch! Which is already in the 'on' position.]

[Clicking it back and forth causes a brief flicker in the LED screen that serves as the robot's face, and a low hum of power- but nothing else happens.]

[For whatever reason, it's not booting up.]

[Does it have some kind of battery pack?]

[There's a panel on the back with a little lightning bolt symbol and words to the effect of a danger of shock on the back, but it's bolted down. With one of those annoying bolts that's not a standard phillips head or flat head, no less.]

[Welp. Any tools around here?]

[There's a small workbench on one side of the room, yes!]

[Now, logically it seems like there should be a tool specifically for that type of bolt over here. Since, you know, they would've needed to get their robot charged at some point. Can we find it?]

[That would be a reasonable assumption! And it'll take some searching, because this place is, as mentioned, sort of a mess due to fireball barrage.]

[But such a screwdriver can be found, yes.]

[Fuck yeeeeeah, let's get that panel open and see what we can do!]

[Okay, you know that scene in Indiana Jones where the Nazis open the Ark of the Covenant and get their faces melted off? This is-]

[Not really anything like that. Except in that Michael's opened a box, and found a weird glowy thing inside. It's kind of Energizer/Duracell shaped, if D-cell batteries looked magical or radioactive and cast off a swirling, multicolored light.]

[.......welp. He has no clue what to do with this!

Was there anything on that paper that might've had to do with the robot's power system? He's got it on him anyway, in this house we keep our secret evidence shit on our person.]

[Nope, that was just a doodle of the exterior design, looks like. And the notes don't really discuss power sources, just the AI that's supposed to be riding around in this thing.]

[Funny you mention the notes, though. The other side of that page, with all the math? There's a few scattered, partially charred pages on the bench that continue in the same vein.]

[Thank god, because that distracts Michael enough that he does not immediately follow up by sticking his hand in the mystery glow.

Anything relevant about these new pages, or is it just generally more soul math stuff?]

[Looks like someone was trying to refine the concept, or maybe they just really liked exploring all the minute variations in ways you can turn necromancy into math.]

[It pops out like a normal battery would. A glowing, magical, very dangerous-looking battery.]

Question two, is the robot of an appropriate size and weight to be stolen?]

[Probably a good idea. It might not be immediately explodey, but it manages to give off the air that it might if not secured.]

[And yes, you go ahead and loot the hell out of that robot.]
