[As you all finish investigating, an electric chime rings out across the PA system.]

I believe that should be sufficient time for you all to prepare. Assistant, please escort everyone to the trial room.

[Penny emerges from the Security office again, head down, and slowly collects everyone; she leads you all to the east side of the common room, to the short hallway between dorms B1 and A2, that’s dead ended through your entire time here. As your group approaches, the wall seamlessly slides up to reveal a hidden doorway. Passing through leads to another short hallway and a small, round room, just big enough to hold all of you. Penny passes her ID over a small pad near the doorway, and it blinks green before the room lurches slightly beneath you; an elevator going down.]

[A short trip down leads you to a larger chamber, with a series of twenty-two podiums set up in a ring; in the center is a column of computer stations with large monitors, behind a set of thick metal beams with occasional faint flashes of energy arcing between them and a constant, low hum.]

Welcome to your first trial, Participants. You will use this time to determine which among your number killed the Legendary Bassist, and send them to justice. Failure to choose the correct culprit will have dire consequences for you all.

Alright, we're not getting anywhere. Let's go back to the beginning and try to retrace what we know. We have a possible handwriting match for Sonia, but that's not enough to say she did it- we can't afford to run in half cocked and die like idiots.

[He pulls out the notebook from the meeting, checking to see if any of the writing in it matches too: though carefully so hopefully the Researcher won't be too interested in exactly what it says]

...we should also go ahead and check for wounds and blood just to be safe.

Could be either. Taking off someone's head probably got everywhere. Or they could have been hurt while doing it. Honestly, I'm just kinda taking shots in the dark and hoping it works. It's kinda my MO.

[As frustrating as this whole thing is, Neku is right. Izuku leans back, looking over his notes again.] It's hard to say for sure whether or not there was a struggle since the victim didn't have any other wounds besides being decapitated...but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. The attempt to mop up blood with gauze and then hide it away makes me think that someone else got injured.

[Neku will put his money where his mouth is: he yanks up his shirt and shows his arms. He has a healed little circular scar on his chest that the experienced might recognize as a gunshot scar. But otherwise he's clean.]

[Izuku rolls up his sleeves before holding out his hands and arms to be checked. His right hand is a little messed up- the fingers are crooked and bent in an unusual sort of way with a nasty scar stretching around the back of it, but it's obviously an older wound. He has some scars lacing their way up his arms as well, but...also old. He's clean.]

His hands and arms are clean, lacking even any small scars or traces like one might expect from a human his apparent age.]

[Veronica is wearing the jumpsuit from the trunks, because y'know. Hygiene is important and also she's been wearing the same vaguely terrible blazer for like two weeks it's seen better days. She removes the top half entirely, because she's wearing a camisole underneath, and ties the arms around her waist but all that proves is her arms are clean.

She'll pull up the camisole on request but like. Midoriya said arms and hands so that's what she's going with.]

[Meredith shows her arms, and will even show off her chest if one of the women is checking. She's clean, and yes, she's human-looking under her clothes, too.]

[ Helena puts down her complete sandwich and takes off the leather jacket she's spent most of the week in. She's wearing a dirty white tank top underneath it, so her arms are easy enough to check -- there might be a small amount of blood high on her forearms, but she was telling the truth when she said she washed up! There are old scars on her back, though only the ones on her shoulders are visible, but nothing significant on her arms. If one of the women asks, she'll let them check her stomach, where there's a pretty gnarly and recent wound on the right side of her abdomen -- but not this morning recent, more like a week ago recent. So, concerning, but clean! ]
