Your pockets are empty, save for an unfamiliar smartphone type of device that comes alive under your touch, displaying, among other things, a map, a series of profiles, and a list of rules.]

It is understood that you may have questions; please be patient, and gather back in the Common Room in one hour. The Assistant will be present at this time to answer your questions. In the meantime, please feel free to explore the Facility at your leisure.

[The doors to the dorm areas are freely open from the inside, though you’ll find that it takes your electronic id to regain entry once you’ve left. Otherwise, it’s as the voice says, and you’ve got an hour to explore your new surroundings and get to know your fellow kidnappees.]

It would! But it would also be unfair to the other team, then. And then THEY might have something that was unfairly powerful against your ESP, see?

And- sort of? We know this situation might be stressful for some people, and if anyone tried- hurting someone else, we don't want to keep everyone in a closed space with that person. It's a little vaguely worded, I know.

I can't imagine anyone here would do anything that extreme, but the Researcher is very cautious, so he wanted a failsafe just in case.

So... if someone hurts someone else, then they'll get "terminated" for our safety?

Soooort of? More like- if someone terminated someone else, it would end the study for everyone else's safety. I know it's a little strangely worded.

But I'm sure no one here would do anything like that!
