Good morning, Participants. The time is now 7:30 AM.

[Where were you before this? Doesn’t matter, you’re here now, in an unfamiliar bed, surrounded by unfamiliar people, with a slightly-too-cheerful automated voiced chiming over a PA system to wake you up. Your pockets are empty, save for an unfamiliar smartphone type of device that comes alive under your touch, displaying, among other things, a map, a series of profiles, and a list of rules.]

It is understood that you may have questions; please be patient, and gather back in the Common Room in one hour. The Assistant will be present at this time to answer your questions. In the meantime, please feel free to explore the Facility at your leisure.

[The doors to the dorm areas are freely open from the inside, though you’ll find that it takes your electronic id to regain entry once you’ve left. Otherwise, it’s as the voice says, and you’ve got an hour to explore your new surroundings and get to know your fellow kidnappees.]

[Neku keeps looking through the phone before:]

Izuku, right?

[Oh, right. Izuku nods, dipping his head a little in greeting.] Midoriya Izuku. You're...Sakuraba-kun? [How could he forget the name of Mr. human, formerly-dead]

Yeah. One good thing about these creepy profiles: don't have to do that awkward 'how the hell do I introduce myself without sounding dumb' dance.

[He smiles slightly]

[mightdoriya]

[That gets Izuku to smile a little himself, because he's awkward as hell on a good day so Neku is pretty spot on with that.] Hah, yeah...though I guess I do feel kindof weird being like...'Hi, my name is Midoriya Izuku, sorry we aren't meeting under better circumstances but you know how it is'.

Not the first time I've done the whole 'hey no time to small talk we're being attacked by monsters and/or about to die' thing.

[mightdoriya]

You too, huh? [What a life you must have lead, Neku. ...and then lead again, considering your profile.] I can't say I'm not expecting something like that to happen here, too. Whoever's doing all this still has to show themselves, after all.

Think it might be a fight?

[mightdoriya]

It could come to that. I mean...there was a lady punching the walls when I left my dorm. People are angry. [And apparently there's an alligator man walking around, so we're potentially all fucked.] Even if whoever is masterminding this has an explanation, we all might not be willing to sit around to hear it, you know?

Yeah. Could end up in a riot at this rate. The longer we have to wait and stew on it the more worked up everyone is gonna be...

[mightdoriya]

If they're competent enough to somehow manage to get this many people under one roof without so much as a whisper about it, then they're probably prepared for the worst, at least. Have you read the rules yet, though? I don't like the way it uses the word "terminate".

[Neku scowls, nodding]

Survival of the fittest. Of whoever is willing to do anything to save themselves...

[He looks very uncomfortable with the idea. ALmost guilty]

[mightdoriya]

H-hey, you don't think someone would really... [Expect them to do something like that? Or even think anyone would go to such lengths. Izuku almost can't grasp such a thought, especially when his entire aim in life is to protect people, not hurt them.]

Absolutely.

[No hesitation]

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku grits his teeth behind his lips, quiet for a moment. At the very least he seems to be able to keep a level head about it, but it's clear from his expression that the gravity of this situation is hitting him ten times harder than it had already.] We're going to have to get out of here before that happens, then.

[scratchitti]

Better hurry then.

[His tone suggests he has little faith in there being no violence]

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku takes a breath, looking out into the Common Room for a moment. He can see the others here, milling about, talking...some of them off on their own, refusing to interact. He looks back to Neku, his expression set. Determined.] I don't know what we might have to end up doing to get out of this, but...I'm willing to work together to figure it out if you are, Sakuraba-kun. [That's said as he holds a hand out to Neku.]

[Neku looks surprised by this overt offer, and doesn't take his hand at first.

... but after a moment he smiles, grasping Izuku's hand]

That's what I like to hear.

[mightdoriya]

[The handshake Izuku gives is firm, though Neku might notice that his right hand is lined with scars...unusual looking ones that look more like they're from an old surgery than open wounds.] Until the people spearheading this show themselves, the best thing to do is to ask the others if they remember anything. Something is going to be better than nothing.
