[ Got up a little late, but the situation is obvious as day. What's off at first glance if anything? ]

[Most obviously? This place is a fucking mess. Things are scattered all over the counter.]

[Well, there's the knives Helena found, but it's also a lot of random pieces of junk? Like someone was using it as a workbench or tinkering station.]

[ That's not so bad...weird, not bad, though. That's interesting, if anything. Is there anything off about these random pieces of junk other than the appearance of some work going on here or nah? ]

[It's a pretty eclectic mix of parts? But otherwise, no.]

[There is other stuff on the counter, though.]

[ He hears the blond mention she finds the knives, so he'll turn to her to acknowledge that with a nod before beginning to look at the other stuff. What else is he looking at, exactly? ]

[Well, there's the wine bottle sitting on the counter, that kind of stands out among the literal junk.]

[ Huh, okay. Is it empty/full, or is there something else going on with it? ]

[It's about a quarter of the way full with a dark, viscous liquid. A small red stain trails down the side and onto the label, from the lip of the bottle.]

[ ...Does this liquid actually smell like wine? Or is it something else entirely? ]

[Though you can probably be forgiven for missing the smell of blood at first, since it's been in the air since the hallway where you found Yaiba.]

[ SPEAKING OF KNIFE QUESTIONS after whatever's immediately off, what's up with that knife block? Is anything missing? can she take one ]

[The knife block is, perhaps unsurprisingly, empty. But Helena won't have to look far for them, they're kind of all in a pile on the counter.]

[ And she snaps a photo of that, then gets closer and takes it from another angle. She's never been on this side of the investigation, precisely, but she assumes this is how it's done, and if Sarah, who isn't even real, can go through the motions of the late, soulless Elizabeth Childs, so too can she. Are they bloody?

OH YEAH and also a very helpful aside to Shinso: ]

Hello. I found the knives.

[Very good teamwork, Helena! Penny will probably note that. Or she would, if she were here.]

[But there is approximately all the blood on these knives. It's splashed across the blades and handles, and it's smeared onto the counter the knives are resting on.]

[ An understatement! But does it look like random splatter all over, or are there any signs of a human (or, uh, sentient and metaphorical) hand involved here? Grip prints on the handles? Any kind of trail leading to or from the counter? And (once she photographs them again), are they just as coated on the undersides when she flips a few of them over? ]

[The stuff on the handles might be grip prints, might not be? It's pretty smeared, but doesn't look like it's been spattered on, the way it was for the blades. Which look to be equally bloody on both sides, for those that are stained.]

[ Oh boy, let's snap a picture of that too! We're having fun here! What's the biggest knife, by the way? Could any of them alone conceivably almost decapitate a beast boy with the cereals? ]

[There's some varying sizes here, and some might be able to take off a head on their own, with enough time and effort.]

Also for the record she is 100% hunched over the bloody knife pile, just staring. ]
