[Maybe It's nothing, but you might notice a faint, odd metallic scent in the air as you exit your bedrooms this morning.]

[Well everything has gone to shit and it's a good thing powers were gone otherwise half of this place would have been blown to fucking bits at the sight of that body.

Shigeo can't stop trembling as he walks down the halls back to his dorm-- this is the first time he's hit 100% without something happening so that's... something he has to deal with on top of this all but he doesn't want to let himself be useless or in the way. So he goes into his shared dorm where Yaiba used to rest and decides to do a little snooping... he has no idea what to look for, being not very bright but he's going to Do His Best.]

[Fortunately, there's at least one thing here not very well hidden. Which is to say, it's just sitting there in plain sight. There's a sheet of paper on the nightstand next to Yaiba's bunk.]

He'll pick it up to read at least, to see if it really is useful or not.]

[Oh. Good.

Shigeo reads it over carefully, hands shaking as he realizes how grave the contents of the note were. Though the message was uplifting and encouraging overall, it was still.... a suicide note.

A suicide note for a decapitated man.

"Do not cry for me" the note reads, but Shigeo doesn't listen. Without even realizing it, the teenage boy is on his knees on the ground, the note held tightly as tears spill over his cheeks with the severity of the situation becoming a bit much. Part of his brain remembers that this note would probably be useful to finding out what happened and he sets it down in front of him before wiping furiously at his eyes as the tears just don't stop.]

Why.. why does this have to happen?

[He's gonna need a Hot Moment.]

[Spy's a little late to the murder party, but he's here! He reads the note over Mob's shoulder, thinking to himself. The loss of life is... unfortunate, but not unprecedented. The circumstances are more peculiar, and Spy can't help but think there's more going on than a dramatic suicide.

First things first, are there any obvious abnormalities about the note? And is the note handwritten or typed?]

[It is handwritten. The signature stands out, taking up almost half the page.]

[Dramatique... Sounds about right for the furry, from what little Spy learned about him.

It's unfortunate that he didn't get to see him write anything down in the last few weeks, so Spy could compare the handwriting- unless there's something in the room that he may have written on?]

Assuming the trunk isn't locked, Spy pops that bad boy open]

[What are locks, sounds like something for a facility not run by a sociopath.]

[But yeah, the trunk opens easily enough. And there's a few big pieces of paper shoved in there, crumpled on top of Yaiba's spare clothes.]

Spy picks them up carefully. what do these secret papers have to say?]

[Looks like some kind of homespun blueprints for something really complex.]

[... Huh! Wonder what that's about!!!

No but i take it the blueprints are designs for the rube goldberg death machine?

And is there any writing on the blueprints that Spy can compare to the suicide note?]

[That'd be a pretty good guess! They're actually pretty meticulous? Whoever drew these put a lot of thought into making it much more complicated than it needed to be, right down to the tripwire.]

[But yes, there are some notes! Mostly pointing out how the various pieces of the device fit together. There's a whole lot of 'hences' and talking about what a cool, legendary death machine it is.]

[It reminds him a bit of Engie, honestly, but Engie prefers to build things that look unassuming despite their power. This is just... extravagant.

Spy takes multipls photos of the blueprints and suicide note, taking care to make sure all the text is legible.

Since Spy hasn't seen the death machine itself, yet, he'll have to compare it to the blueprints later. For now, is there anything else of interest or importance here?]
