[Where were you before this? Doesn’t matter, you’re here now, in an unfamiliar bed, surrounded by unfamiliar people, with a slightly-too-cheerful automated voiced chiming over a PA system to wake you up. Your pockets are empty, save for an unfamiliar smartphone type of device that comes alive under your touch, displaying, among other things, a map, a series of profiles, and a list of rules.]

It is understood that you may have questions; please be patient, and gather back in the Common Room in one hour. The Assistant will be present at this time to answer your questions. In the meantime, please feel free to explore the Facility at your leisure.

[The doors to the dorm areas are freely open from the inside, though you’ll find that it takes your electronic id to regain entry once you’ve left. Otherwise, it’s as the voice says, and you’ve got an hour to explore your new surroundings and get to know your fellow kidnappees.]

[Please find one (1) blue-haired girl of unclear teen-ish age on the neighboring bed. She looks perfectly normal, other than being nowhere near as distressed as you'd expect from a kidnapping victim.]

[Colorful haired kids is just going to be a theme for this place, it seems. Regardless, keeping calm in an otherwise crisis situation is better than the alternative, at least, however unusual. Izuku manages a sort of nervous smile to her, rubbing the back of his neck as he glances up at the ceiling.] Y-yeah! Sorry, I...I got a little wrapped up in my thoughts, there... [He's just gonna pocket his phone-device for the moment.] My name is Midoriya Izuku.

[Well, "calm" might not be the best word for her.]

I'm Meredith Seaver. It's nice to meet you... Izuku? Midoriya? Was that in Japanese name order or English? Or actually, which one do you want me to use? That's what's important.

O-oh uh- [He blinks, then looks up thoughtfully.] "Midoriya Izuku" is Japanese order...Mirodiya is my surname. So Midoriya-kun is fine. [He might just explode if she called him Izuku.] And what about yours?

[HM...from the way her name structure just sounds, then, he's going to go with what he assumes is probably her surname.] Okay then, Seaver-san. You said you just woke up here too...do you remember anything from before that?

[WHY INDEED... Izuku exhales on a sigh, folding his hands in his lap.] That answers that, I guess...I don't really remember anything helpful either. Only that I have a hard time believing I was in any position to get captured where I was...

If this is what I think it is, they're pretty powerful. I'm not sure how they'd get us without us knowing, but it fits the pattern.

[That certainly has Izuku frowning thoughtfully.] Is it okay if I ask you what that might be?

We're supposed to wake up with no idea how we got here, and then gradually find things out about the situation as time goes on. Over a month or two, if I'm recognizing the setup right.

[...] Have you been kidnapped like this before? That's a pretty broad assumption to make...

No, I just know how a lot of stories work. There's this website that catalogs so many of them, it's crazy.

[Izuku makes a sort of face at that, but...he decides not to try and think about it too hard.] Well, whatever is going on here, we're probably not really going to be sure of what's being planned until we find out who is behind it.
