Good morning, Participants. The time is now 7:30 AM.

[Where were you before this? Doesn’t matter, you’re here now, in an unfamiliar bed, surrounded by unfamiliar people, with a slightly-too-cheerful automated voiced chiming over a PA system to wake you up. Your pockets are empty, save for an unfamiliar smartphone type of device that comes alive under your touch, displaying, among other things, a map, a series of profiles, and a list of rules.]

It is understood that you may have questions; please be patient, and gather back in the Common Room in one hour. The Assistant will be present at this time to answer your questions. In the meantime, please feel free to explore the Facility at your leisure.

[The doors to the dorm areas are freely open from the inside, though you’ll find that it takes your electronic id to regain entry once you’ve left. Otherwise, it’s as the voice says, and you’ve got an hour to explore your new surroundings and get to know your fellow kidnappees.]

[ There's Shinso, turning to look up from his smartphone-like device and face Izuku after he asked his questions - seems like no matter their situation, some things don't change. But it's not for a bad reason, considering the situation in of itself was concerning, and that might be why he quickly looks over the other boy for any obvious injuries. ]

I'm alright. [ ... ] It looks like our captors didn't need to injure us to bring us here in the first place.

[ That in of itself is troubling. ]

Shinso-kun... [Izuku honestly isn't sure if it's more or less of a relief to finally come across someone he recognizes, and another student no less. Though...why Shinso in particular, he can't help but wonder? Not in a bad way, necessarily, he's just...surprised, seeing him.] Yeah...do you remember anything from before you woke up? [He just remembers the raid on the League's hideout, and then...well, everything else that was just so much he can't think about it right now. He doesn't remember being approached otherwise at all.]

[ It's a reasonable question, even if Shinso was sure that Izuku was in the same general area he was - along with a few others, actually. Which naturally raised more alarm bells than it would've if he were, say, out on his own as opposed to being around so many capable people. ]

Last I remembered, I had just joined in your Class and Class-B's joint combat exercise against each other, and went through the first match. But, I don't remember any villain ambush or anything like that before waking up here.

What about you?

[ It's plausible that he may have been knocked out before being made aware of anything occurring, so he kind of hopes that Izuku does remember something more than he does. ]

[That makes Izuku go tense, his eyes cast downward for a moment.] Kacchan was kidnapped by the League of Villains. The Pros managed to find their hideout and... [...] A lot happened, but...he is alright now, as far as I remember last.

[ There's something a little off to him about that. That's the last he remembers? And for a moment, he doesn't know what to make of it. So his gaze becomes a little more intense as he considers the ramifications. ]

It didn't occur all that long ago, but...that's about all you remember? Only to right after that was all resolved?

I... [Izuku blinks, thinking back to what Shinso had just described. Wait, he did say something about a combat exercise, but...] Only...to right after. [...] Are you saying...that the combat exercise happened after that? [For Izuku, there hasn't been an after. There is only now, as in that being the present...at least his present, anyway.]

It did - you were there too, in fact. You don't remember?

[ Shinso falls silent for a moment, and his lips curl downwards into a frown. Of course, he doesn't consider the possibility that they're from two different points in time because he doesn't know of such a phenomena. Instead, he just erroneously assumes that the people in charge did something to Izuku, which isn't a pleasant thought. ]

Does anything feel fuzzy, hurt, or strange at all?

[In the same vein, he's starting to worry about that as well. He wouldn't be surprised Shinso has the same concern, given what his own Quirk is.] Not really...I was just a little groggy when I woke up, but I wouldn't call it disoriented or anything. Just from being in an unfamiliar place.

...Alright. While it's good that you don't feel anything else besides that, it doesn't prove they didn't do anything.

[ He supposed that he will just need to stick close to Izuku for now and see if there's a plan that can be concocted. If the Pro-Heroes don't find them before then, anyway. ]

It looks like for now it'll be good if we can gather as much information as we can.

[ Though, with how intelligent Izuku is, he doesn't doubt he's already thinking as much. ]

[He's absolutely right about that. Izuku's mind hasn't stopped racing since he woke up here, and he's been asking others about what they remember to see if he could find out anything. So far, though...there hasn't been a lot of luck.] I've talked to some of the others, but they don't seem to remember anything either other than the last thing they were doing back at their homes. Have you looked over these rules they put up, yet? [They're not...encouraging.]

[ Figures.

Shinso hasn't had much luck in his talks either, as few as they have been due to him not being anywhere remotely close to a social butterfly. ]

I have, and it seems this 'Researcher' is in charge of all of this seeing as they can add more of them.

[ Easy conclusion to reach since they're also the one indicated as to who'd be able to make updates to the rules as well. Either way, the rules are somewhat vague, but the worst is the last one that's been spelled out, and he has thoughts on those. ]

I'm not sure what type of Team Exercises they'll have here, but the worst to look out for is rule 7. It looks like the 'Researcher' is encouraging murder as a part of the experiment.

[Izuku nods, pressing his knuckles thoughtfully to his lips.] That definitely seems to be what it's implying. I figured it would be too optimistic to assume that "terminate" meant anything but the most obvious. [And with that in mind, whatever Team Exercises they'll have to do...probably aren't going to be terribly enjoyable to go through.] Could it be some sort of Battle Royale situation framed as being an experiment? And even if it was, why? What would someone be gaining out of something like that?

It might be.

[ Even then, there was a motivation behind Battle Royale, so of course there had to be one here, which is undoubtedly going to be something depraved in his opinion. ]

Personal enjoyment is the first thing I thought of. Or they believe it'll give them some sort of useful information for the future, if they're planning on doing something similar again.

I'm sure The Researcher will gladly spill their real intentions soon enough.

[ Most villains are bound to spill their motives almost immediately, even without anyone having asked... ]

[It would be too optimistic to assume it wasn't something depraved, honestly. At least information dumping monologues were something most villains seemed to fall in the trap of...it was too tempting for them not to. Izuku sighs, balling his hands into fists.] You're right. I don't think there's much we can do other than wait. I hate that we both got taken, but...I'm glad there's at least one familiar face here.

[ It really would.

There's a moment of pause, recalling his previous statement, last time he'd seen Class 1-A, and by extension, Izuku, before he arrived here. Maybe it was a little ironic now in retrospect. ]

I'll have to agree with that. It's not ideal, but in a way it's good neither of us have to deal with every single person here being a stranger.

[It makes Izuku wonder if the selection was deliberately so...broad, he supposes. Choosing a student from Class 1-A and Class 1-C...] I think we should try to stick together in the meantime, Shinso-kun. Not that...it really looks like there are many other places to go, but...

[ It really was a curious thing, already bringing in two UA students amongst the rest, and not even from the same class. ]

I believe I understand. It wouldn't make much sense for us to do otherwise.

[ Shinso isn't used to sticking close to anyone in particular, but here it'd be for the best if they did. At the very least, Izuku was pleasant to be around. ]

[He's glad they're on the same page, but he wouldn't expect any less from someone coming from UA. They all shared the mindset of getting serious when it was most needed.] Speaking of...where did you wake up, actually? I was in a dorm room, A1. [Fitting, really.]
