Good morning, Participants. The time is now 7:30 AM.

[Where were you before this? Doesn’t matter, you’re here now, in an unfamiliar bed, surrounded by unfamiliar people, with a slightly-too-cheerful automated voiced chiming over a PA system to wake you up. Your pockets are empty, save for an unfamiliar smartphone type of device that comes alive under your touch, displaying, among other things, a map, a series of profiles, and a list of rules.]

It is understood that you may have questions; please be patient, and gather back in the Common Room in one hour. The Assistant will be present at this time to answer your questions. In the meantime, please feel free to explore the Facility at your leisure.

[The doors to the dorm areas are freely open from the inside, though you’ll find that it takes your electronic id to regain entry once you’ve left. Otherwise, it’s as the voice says, and you’ve got an hour to explore your new surroundings and get to know your fellow kidnappees.]

[Very unfortunately, Shigeo had just wandered out of his room with perfect, comedic timing to be steamrolled by Izuku -- well, not that drastically, but he definitely gets knocked off his feet when the panicked boy leaves his room.

Of course, being the polite boy he is Shigeo pulls himself up enough to look up at Izuku and immediately bows his head a couple of times.]

S-sorry!

Uwah-!! [Both Izuku and Shigeo smack right into each other, but not with enough force thankfully to hurt either one of them. It's moreso slightly mortifying to Izuku that in his haste he actually bowled somebody over holy shit-] Sorry!!! [He echoes in unison with Shigeo, having been reaching out to help him up before he'd gotten up on his own.] I-I shouldn't have been running, ar- are you alright?

[hyaku]

N-no, I didn't mean to--

[Wow three seconds in and these boys are already useless.

Shigeo bows again, shaking his head.]

I'm okay, are you?

[He looks up a little bit at him, as if checking to see if he's been bruised or something.]

[Izuku looks to be none the worse for wear, at least...for the most part. His right hand all the way up to where his arm disappears into his sleeve is covered in scars, but that's obviously an older wound and nothing to do with them running into each other just now.] Y-yeah, I'm fine. Sorry, I'm just a little...worked up right now. [He tilts his head a little, regarding Shigeo curiously.] Where did you come from...? Are there other rooms here?

[hyaku]

Thank goodness...

[Shigeo lets out a sigh of relief when Izuku tells him he's alright, and he stands up straight again in time for those questions.]

I'm from Japan and um...

[He looks around the hall, back towards his dorm room for a moment before regarding Izuku again and simply giving him a nod.]

There's an alligator in my room.

[mightdoriya]

......eh? [A....what] You mean, like....a real alligator, or...? Is it hurting someone-?! [WHY ARE THEY JUST STANDING HERE]

[hyaku]

Uh... I don't think so.

[Sorry Izuku but he is. Extremely useless.]

I think he was real, but he just yelled a lot. It really surprised me.. I didn't know alligators could talk.

[mightdoriya]

[IT'S OKAY I MEAN...birds of a feather, here.] W-well, he...he might not be just an alligator, if he can talk. It might be his Quirk. [Maybe he's like Tsuyu and can just do everything an alligator does.] As long as he's not hurting anyone, though...maybe he'll calm down.

[hyaku]

...quirk?

[Shigeo tilts his head a little bit at that, the word catching his attention.]

[This moment here will no doubt be Izuku's first inkling into the fact that not everyone here is from his version of Japan. Hell, nearly none of the others are, save for Shinso.] ...you've never heard of a Quirk?

[hyaku]

[Quietly, Shigeo shakes his head.]

My master has called someone "quirky" before but I don't think that's what you're referring to... is it?

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku shakes his head no.] You've heard of superheroes, right?

[hyaku]

Yeah. I've read comics about them before.

[The other teen looks curious now, tilting his head a little bit.]

[mightdoriya]

Well-! Where I come from, everyone... [Errrr] Well, mostly everyone in the world is born with a Quirk. It's like a super power, like a superhero would have. Like being able to create explosions, or making things float and not be affected by gravity...there are a lot of people who are part animal because of that, like Asui-chan. She's like a frog, she can do everything frogs can do. [Oh boy he's rambling, you got him talking Shigeo what have you done-] I'm going to school right now to become a real, Pro Hero.

[hyaku]

Oh.

[Shigeo straightens up a little more, and a small smile spreads across his face.]

That sounds like ESPers. I haven't seen anyone be part animal yet but I've seen someone who could control fire and someone else who could control gravity.

[mightdoriya]

ESP! [Izuku chirps back, immediately interested.] I have a friend who can control fire, and ice too. Uraraka-san is the one who can make things float! And my mom has a Quirk that's similar, she can draw small objects to herself!

[hyaku]

[Izuku's excitement has Shigeo looking excited -- well as excited as this boy can manage, anyway. And he leans forward a little bit as he talks.]

I can make things float, too. And bend spoons. My friend can copy other psychic abilities after seeing them.

[mightdoriya]

Uwaah, that's so cool!! Can you show me? I'd love to see how your Quirk- err...your ability works! [Even though it's pretty similar to Ochako's....he's excited okay.]

[hyaku]

Okay.

[People usually aren't this excited about his psychic abilities.. it has him blushing a little from embarrassment.

Shigeo takes a step back, and he moves his hand out towards Izuku with the intention of making him float in mind. But instead.... nothing happens and he just stands there looking like an idiot for all of ten seconds before he realizes something's wrong.]

...huh? My powers are gone...?

[that's alarming]

...gone? [Izuku echoes the word, feeling ice start to settle in his veins.] What do you mean?

[hyaku]

[Shigeo is quiet at the question, bringing his hand back to himself and he clenches and unclenches his fingers a couple of times.]

I don't feel them anymore. I can't sense anything around us, either.

[This has happened before but... it was just contained to one room. And he had help to figure out how to escape and get his abilities back.

Here, he's all alone. And if they're not working in the hallways then he doubts they'll work in any of the other rooms, either.]

[mightdoriya]

[Feel them? Sense...? There's clearly more to his ESP than he's told Izuku off hand...] ...there must be someone with a Quirk here that can erase abilities. Like Aizawa-sensei. It can't be forever. [He refuses to believe that.]

[hyaku]

Mm.

[Shigeo nods a little, but he can't stop looking at the palm of his hand, as if he's expecting his powers to just reappear at any minute.

Could that mean this really was just another branch of Claw? Maybe "Quirk" was just what they called ESP wherever Izuku came from, and they kidnapped a bunch of them again to make them into soldiers. Just like they did with Ritsu. Just like they tried with Teru. And how they surely wanted to do with him, too.

It's kind of scary to think about, and without realizing it his hand has begun to shake.]

...I don't think it's safe here. We need to figure out a way out

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku nods, slowly, but boy if he doesn't feel fucking terrible. He starts to reach for Shigeo, but ends up faltering, drawing his hand back.] ...are you going to be okay?

[hyaku]

[Shigeo looks up at that question, and he sees Izuku's expression. This is an awful situation suddenly but it'd be useless if they both started to panic, right? So he takes in a breath and lets his hand drop to his side, and he gives the other boy a small smile.]

Yeah. I'm okay.
