[You are woken every day at 7:30 AM by the same robotic voice that woke you on day one. At 11pm each night, a similar message plays reminding everyone about the start of quiet hours and dimming the lights.]

[If you want to talk to Penny, she can be found in the Security Office if she's not anywhere else in the Facility. Office hours appear to be whenever.]

What about the other members? They can run for an hour without even getting tired...

Well...it sounds like they've been a part of this club for a while. They probably didn't start running for an hour all in one day. You have to give your body time to catch up.

[Shigeo is quiet at that, staring into his cup of water at his shoddy reflection. The only reason he's actually in the club is to try and get buff and cool and impress a girl he likes... of course he can't expect that to happen immediately but he thought that if he worked just as hard as the others-- no, twice as hard he'd be able to get just as strong.

But Izuku is... probably right. The other members just kind of keep pushing him past his limit, but he should really honestly pace himself before he dies. Or something.]

...that makes a lot of sense, Midoriya-kun. I'll give it a try.

[He gives Izuku a smile.]

Do you want to work out with me? We could start at something lower than twenty minutes if you need to.

[you look wimpy with clothes on nevermind that izuku carried mob here]

[Izuku's lips quirk in a funny little way at that, and he almost corrects him, but...] I'd love to train with you, Kageyama-kun. I missed having a partner to work with. As for that, um...we can start with however much running you are comfortable with. I'll keep up with you, not the other way around.

[hyaku]

Okay. Don't push yourself either, though.

[He's excited though.. it's more fun to work out with other people than just by yourself and at least if he passes out he'll have someone reliable to make sure he hasn't actually died.]

[mightdoriya]

You don't have to worry about me. I do this a lot back home. Actually, just exercising is probably the easiest thing I get to do. [All other times he's risking certain bodily injury trying to get a handle over himself, pretty much.]

[hyaku]

Really?

[Shigeo takes another sip of water and mulls that over for a moment, and he thinks back to a conversation they had before.]

Oh, right. Because you're a hero.

[mightdoriya]

[Because you're a hero. Those words make his heart swell just as much as they put a huge weight on his shoulders.] That's right. I mean, I'm not...officially a hero yet, but...I'm going to be one, one day.

[hyaku]

[calm down deku it's just a gullible fourteen year old saying that okay]

Does it need to be official? I thought anyone could be a hero?

[mightdoriya]

If just anyone tried to do a police officer's job it could get pretty dangerous, right? It's the same thing with being a Hero. There's a lot to learn and a lot of things you need to know how to do right before you actually start working as one.

[hyaku]

Hehhh...

[Shigeo lets out a curious sound at that, wondering slightly just what kind of place Izuku must have come from for that kind of weird rule.]

So being a hero is a job?

[mightdoriya]

Mhm. It wasn't always one, but...with heroes, there were villains too. And there started to become a real need for heroes to stop them.

[hyaku]

Mm, that makes sense. If no one wanted to be a hero, then things would get out of hand quickly.

[yeah just pay someone to stop a giant dude from killing half the town that works]

I don't think we need heroes like that where I'm from, besides the local police but... no, maybe we do.

ESPers tried to take over the world once, and my master stopped them. And if he hadn't something really bad could have happened and-- ah, wait. My master isn't a hero. Does that mean he could get arrested for pretending to be one?

[This has suddenly become quite convoluted, hasn't it.]

[JUST A LITTLE BIT...] That's one of the dilemmas we face as heroes in training, Kageyama-kun. It's against the law to use your Quirk to fight or try to apprehend a villain if you don't have the liscence to do so, even in a crisis situation. I know it sounds like that could be bad, but that's why there are already so many pro heroes in our world, and so many people studying to become heroes. Breaking the law to do the right thing is still breaking the law. And once you start breaking the law to do heroic acts, you start blurring the line between what makes a hero a hero and a villain a villain. ...d-does that make sense? [He fidgets a little.] If your master lived in my world, he probably would have gotten into some trouble, yeah.

[hyaku]

[Shigeo listens carefully to what Izuku says, watching him curiously as he explains the legalities of being a hero. It makes sense, sort of. If they put those kinds of restrictions on ESP there certainly wouldn't be an entire organization of bad ESPers trying to take over the world.. or he'd hope not, anyway. So it's not a bad idea, not at all.

But there is something that he says that shocks Shigeo, and he leans forward a little bit on the edge of the bed and whispers:]

...are you an alien, Midoriya-kun?

[He hasn't gotten the "other world" talk yet so he just thought Izuku was from another part of Japan where they call ESP "Quirks"...]

[mightdoriya]

[....................] A....an alien? [He squeaks, his expression turning to one of sheer confusion.] W-what would make you think that?

[hyaku]

You.. you said if my master lived in "your world" so I thought....

[mightdoriya]

[Oh.....] No, I mean...from talking to everyone else, I've come to the assumption that we're probably not being held where we originally came from. Especially if Quirks don't exist where other people I've talked to live...Quirks are common all over the world back home.

[hyaku]

E-ehhhh?

[That makes him.. even more confused, honestly.]

It's true that I've never heard of them before... actually, I've never seen a talking alligator before, either. ESP doesn't do things like that to people, and he's not a spirit, but....

[But the idea of someone being able to take so many people from different worlds entirely is...]

...sorry. I think you're probably right, Midoriya-kun. And I'm sorry for calling you an alien.

[mightdoriya]

No, it's okay. I'm sorry I can't explain it much better than that...I don't fully understand it myself. [He rubs the back of his neck.] I know of people who have Quirks back home that can warp people, but...not to completely different dimensions or anything like that.
