Peace Week

[If you want to talk to Penny, she can be found in the Security Office if she's not anywhere else in the Facility. Office hours appear to be whenever.]

Date: 2018-11-26 06:43 am (UTC)Dear diary,
A lot has happened since I first woke up here. And you know? Before the entire thing where multiple people died, I got laid, and the school blew up, I think I would be freaking out about this more. But I look around me at all these people I've never seen before in my life and I ask myself: is this really so bad?
Sure, we might have all been kidnapped and that's potentially concerning but frankly I can't bring myself to give a damn. For all of the unfamiliar aspects of this situation, isn't it basically just high school all over again? Whoever brought us here even provided us with cute little roles to play. I'm "The Damaged," because someone out there really knows how to paint a target on a girl's back.
Let's just hope there's no boys with a penchant for 7-11 here.]
Ugh. typical cafeteria food.
[Veronica can mainly be found in the library, or the dining hall during mealtimes. She doesn't appear to have a particular area of interest in her reading material - basically, she pulled anything she even remotely found interesting off the shelves. Did she actually check out the books she's brought with her to the dining hall? Of course.
She is perpetually in possession of the notebook and blue pen provided and is often scribbling something or another down. Is it notes? Is it observations? Who knows. Her writing appears to be done mainly in some form of shorthand.]

Date: 2018-11-26 08:02 am (UTC)He's awake at 6 AM, which is probably...weird as hell for a boy his age, but anyone in Dorm A1 may or may not be noting this as he's up and getting his clothes on, looking pensive. He doesn't actually leave the room until the morning announcement though, instead sitting on the edge of his bed and thinking.
Izuku didn't actually know there was a Library here? But hot dang if he's not going to spend a lot of his time today here, mostly trying to see if there's anything of like...particular note in these books about this area. But he'll also be taking some back to his room for those expected, sleepless nights.
Dinner is spent with Izuku sitting at one of the tables with a plate of spaghetti that he is very clearly not super jazzed for. He's sort of just...looking into it, poking at it with his fork as he tries to decide if it's safe for eating or not. Mostly he just missed the UA cafeteria...]
Library
Date: 2018-11-26 05:16 pm (UTC)[Or maybe those don't exist, who knows what this setting actually is yet. But whoever put that little checkout book there probably appreciates it.]
[More importantly though, how closely are you looking at the sign-out book as you're using it?]
Library
Date: 2018-11-26 05:20 pm (UTC)[It's a slim, stapled-together volume with cardstock cover, that almost looks homemade. It kind of sticks out among the more impressive-looking leather and paperbacked books that fill the rest of the shelves.]

Date: 2018-11-26 06:11 pm (UTC)Lips pursed, he reaches out and carefully pulls the book out from between the others, letting his eyes scan the cardstock cover for anything unusual first. He'll check the binding too, both to see if there's any writing and to double-check its homemade quality.]
din din
Date: 2018-11-26 11:05 pm (UTC)He doesn't really mind though, and he notices Izuku sitting by himself so he happily takes a seat across from him since he's one of the only people around Shigeo's age and thus one of the only people he's been able to connect with a little bit.]
Good evening, Midoriya-kun.

Date: 2018-11-27 02:27 am (UTC)He doesn't believe that this is just a social experiment or whatever Penny was talking about. That would be too convenient.]
Oh. Kageyama-kun...
[Izuku looks up when Shigeo sits across from him, offering him a slight smile in greeting.]
This kind of food makes me feel like I'm in a whole different country, now.
[Which...they very well might be. If it's a clue to their location he'll take it, but it's still just as unsettling.

Date: 2018-11-27 03:18 am (UTC)So she has to find some way to escape. Yes, that's it. It's a test. She has to used what skills she has to find a way out, find a weakness in the system, break out. She's not staying here. She's not staying here.
Sonia stays in the Computer Room for most of the day, spending most of her time attempting to get into the computer files. If there is anything she can do that doesn't involve literally punching her way out, it's computers. Hopefully this time she won't download a pornsite virus to hide her tracks, but hey, this time it's not goint to be a rush job.
...After a while, she plays a few rounds of Oregon Trail. The leader is always Sonia, and the names of her family: Glochter, Sullivan, Halliwell, J. Wild. She seems to be doing okay until the hunting portions. Because she can't get to shoot a damn thing and OOPS fuck it everyone's starving.]

Date: 2018-11-27 03:53 am (UTC)[ever have oregon trail be used as a spectator sport?]

Date: 2018-11-27 04:10 am (UTC)The animal.
...not as bad as a human mortal. She lowers her arm.]
The game isn't coded to do anything but shoot them. Here, you do it! [Just tosses the mouse at him.]

Date: 2018-11-27 06:01 am (UTC)[The cover is pretty bare, just a title on what's probably the front; printed left-to-right, in the Western format, sorry if that's a little confusing to someone who's not a native speaker. Reader? Whichever.]
[Regardless, the title reads in basic Times New Roman, black ink-]

Date: 2018-11-27 06:34 am (UTC)"Escalation of Escalating Technology"...what does that mean?
[He runs his fingers briefly over the text before he flips the book open, checking the first page or two first instead of moving to a random page inside.]

He makes a face, but decides to flip to a little bit deeper into the book. Is that what this entire book is about?]

Date: 2018-11-27 07:08 am (UTC)[Going forward a bit, the thing that stands out the most is probably the illustrations of an elevator box with a cartoonish face on the front, like some kind of mascot. This too is shown as a progression, as if it were updated over years and decades. Including a dip into an 'ultra kewl kid' 90's reboot that looks to have been mercifully short.]
[It's highly whimsical and childlike. Or, from another perspective, the stuff of nightmares.]

Date: 2018-11-27 07:26 am (UTC)He lifts a hand and runs his fingers through his hair, flipping back, then forward again.]
Mmhh.
[He flips further. Is there anything past the awful 90s elevator box?]
no subject
Date: 2018-11-27 07:34 am (UTC)[And there is one other thing that might catch Izuku's eye, before he flips past the mascot designs.]
[A short, handwritten note; still in black ink, but in a printing that in no way matches the typeset lettering of the rest of the book. Underneath the terrifying clown elevator (and- what might be some kind of nemesis character, just an open pit??) - ]
Are you kidding me?

Date: 2018-11-27 07:46 am (UTC)Sounds like whoever read this last thought these were a bad idea, too.
[In that case, he'll be looking for more writing just like this, whether it be back in the front of the book or further in.]
