[You are woken every day at 7:30 AM by the same robotic voice that woke you on day one. At 11pm each night, a similar message plays reminding everyone about the start of quiet hours and dimming the lights.]

[If you want to talk to Penny, she can be found in the Security Office if she's not anywhere else in the Facility. Office hours appear to be whenever.]

[Well. It's been a day, and while the "assistant", if you could call it that, to the real mind behind all of this had revealed herself, Izuku didn't really feel much closer to an answer on any of this than he already had been...which hadn't been close at all. He'd spoken to a lot of people, and though he barely sleeps, the next day is for meeting the rest as well as getting a better lay of the land. He's awake at 6 AM, which is probably...weird as hell for a boy his age, but anyone in Dorm A1 may or may not be noting this as he's up and getting his clothes on, looking pensive. He doesn't actually leave the room until the morning announcement though, instead sitting on the edge of his bed and thinking. Izuku didn't actually know there was a Library here? But hot dang if he's not going to spend a lot of his time today here, mostly trying to see if there's anything of like...particular note in these books about this area. But he'll also be taking some back to his room for those expected, sleepless nights. Dinner is spent with Izuku sitting at one of the tables with a plate of spaghetti that he is very clearly not super jazzed for. He's sort of just...looking into it, poking at it with his fork as he tries to decide if it's safe for eating or not. Mostly he just missed the UA cafeteria...]

[Unfortunately there don't seem to be any books about the Facility itself, if that's what Izuku is looking for. There's one small volume that might catch his eye, if he's looking carefully, though.]

[It's a slim, stapled-together volume with cardstock cover, that almost looks homemade. It kind of sticks out among the more impressive-looking leather and paperbacked books that fill the rest of the shelves.]

[Yeah, he figures that was going to be a long shot...the volume does eventually grab his attention, though, mainly because it just seems so different from all of the rest. Lips pursed, he reaches out and carefully pulls the book out from between the others, letting his eyes scan the cardstock cover for anything unusual first. He'll check the binding too, both to see if there's any writing and to double-check its homemade quality.]

[Homemade isn't quite the right term, actually. Well, maybe a very well made homemade, but more like something that might've been done at a copy and print center. Neatly creased, stapled in the middle. Slightly worn, like it's been flipped through a lot.]

[The cover is pretty bare, just a title on what's probably the front; printed left-to-right, in the Western format, sorry if that's a little confusing to someone who's not a native speaker. Reader? Whichever.]

Escalation of Escalating Technology
A Brief History

[A bit, perhaps, but Izuku is a smart cookie. If there's anything he's good at, it's figuring things out. After a moment he reaches the title, reading it aloud to himself.] "Escalation of Escalating Technology"...what does that mean? [He runs his fingers briefly over the text before he flips the book open, checking the first page or two first instead of moving to a random page inside.]

[Congratulations, Izuku. You've found a solid contender for most boring possible writing material. The page you've opened too specifically seems to be a diagram and some short notes on the inner workings of a modern elevator.]

[Honestly, Shigeo can't remember the last time he's even eaten something like spaghetti before. His mom usually cooks more traditionally Japanese food, so it's a little surprising but intriguing to have a big ol' plate of spaghet handed to him.

He doesn't really mind though, and he notices Izuku sitting by himself so he happily takes a seat across from him since he's one of the only people around Shigeo's age and thus one of the only people he's been able to connect with a little bit.]

Good evening, Midoriya-kun.

[Izuku can't say he's a picky eater by any means, but something about it just reminds him more that he's being held captive against his will by someone with enough confidence in whatever their plan is to feed and keep their captives at least in relative comfort. He doesn't believe that this is just a social experiment or whatever Penny was talking about. That would be too convenient.] Oh. Kageyama-kun... [Izuku looks up when Shigeo sits across from him, offering him a slight smile in greeting.] This kind of food makes me feel like I'm in a whole different country, now. [Which...they very well might be. If it's a clue to their location he'll take it, but it's still just as unsettling.

[Shigeo smiles back, and he gives a little bit of a nod in agreement.]

I hope we're not in a different country. I don't know how to get home from somewhere like America.

[Said as if he's expecting to have to just walk back or something.]

[That gets a small laugh out of Izuku, though it's a sympathetic one. He doesn't...want to say they probably aren't, because he honestly has no idea. No way of knowing with zero contact with the outside world. He's almost afraid to know.] It will be okay, Kageyama-kun. The food is probably just...different so everyone can have at least something they'll like to eat, right?

Yeah... probably.

[That actually does relieve Shigeo a lot, and he shoves his fork into the noodles and swirls it around a little.]

You're really smart, Midoriya-kun. You remind me a lot of my brother, Ritsu. He always has solutions to any problem you give him, and he's nice and looks after me all of the time, too. You'd probably make good friends with him.

Dinner

[Neku was walking by with his own plate... and after a moment of hesitation decides to just sit with Izuku. Feels like highschool, honestly]

[Izuku had been prodding at one of the meatballs when Neku walks up and says that, sitting down along with him.] It's probably okay...I mean, if they wanted to kill us they could have done it a lot easier a while ago. [Neku was being facetious though, so it's fine, deku.] I'm glad we're being fed at all, at least...I guess I don't know what else I was expecting.

Yeah. They are keeping us fed and giving us stuff to do- they're in this for the long haul.

[mightdoriya]

At least until this whole...team building thing starts. [He's not sure what to expect out of it, honestly. It could be harmless, but...that would be optimistic.]

I'm worried about that. You ever seen a reality show?

[ He places down his plate nearby, and.... ]

An unfortunate selection, isn't it?

[ Referring just to the spaghetti because Shinso went Nah at the idea of someone he doesn't trust making him food, then just went ahead and put together something for himself from the kitchen. Probably something simple like vegetables and rice. ]

[You know, in hindsight...he probably should have done the same? Shinso is the one with the right idea, here. But here he is anyway with a plate of spaghetti he only sortof wants to put into his body.] It's, well... [He shrugs one shoulder, smiling weakly.] At least it's food?

Food neither of us want to actually eat.

[ He almost smiles himself. ]

You could always pass it along to someone else coming along [ As he doubts they'll be the last ones in here. ] and make something in the kitchen yourself.

[Izuku's smile turns a little funny for a second, as if he's surprised by the suggestion.] Well so far someone else told me to let them know if it killed me, so...it sounds like I'm one of the only people really trusting it a whole lot yet. ...that's not a bad idea, though.

[ Knowing what he knows of Izuku and what happened in their first match is enough for him to be entirely unsurprised at this development. It's a little amusing, in a way. ]

It looks like you just might be. If it's not such a bad idea, then you can put away the idea of eating that right now.

[ ... ]

If only because I'm not entirely sure if I'd want to suddenly hear about your ghost telling that someone you'd died from eating a spaghetti dinner.

Dorm A1

You're up early.

[Michael's just laying on his bed, flipping through a book. From the state of his sheets and his dress, it kinda just looks like he never went to sleep at all.]

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku looks over as he slips on his shoes, noting the fact that Michael is still dressed the same as he'd been yesterday.] Ah, yeah...I'm used to getting up for school. I couldn't really sleep anyway.

That's good. You all fritter away so much time sleeping...complete waste, if you ask me.

[He'll probably change or something sometime. If he weren't a jerk, he could've showered and done that while everyone else was sleeping, but here we are.]

Hard to sleep in a weird place like this?

[Honestly, these days, Izuku wishes he could afford to spend more time sleeping. He barely gets any rest as it is, it feels like.] I wouldn't say that...it's more that it's hard to sleep with the uncertainty. It's unnerving.
