[You are woken every day at 7:30 AM by the same robotic voice that woke you on day one. At 11pm each night, a similar message plays reminding everyone about the start of quiet hours and dimming the lights.]

[If you want to talk to Penny, she can be found in the Security Office if she's not anywhere else in the Facility. Office hours appear to be whenever.]

[Well it's saturday, and for any normal person it'd mean time to party or relax and have a great day while you're off from school or your job.

For the people in the facility, it means having a night to sleep off whatever yesterday was and still wake up feeling like shit.

And this is exactly the case for Shigeo. He hoped getting a good night of rest would make him feel better but he laid awake for hours thinking about it and when he finally got some sleep, he had a nightmare.. so he woke up tired and a little frazzled and wishing he could just go back to bed. But what good would that do if he just had another nightmare?

So first things first: breakfast.

He heads into the dininghall first thing in the morning and receives his breakfast like normally, only this time when he takes a seat he has a look of dread on his expression. The food is.. "Chef's Surprise" and for some reason after witnessing someone being burned to death he really doesn't feel like eating some nondescript food right now. So instead he just pokes at it with his fork, wishing he had a big plate of omurice in front of him instead.

After he eventually gets some food down, Shigeo heads off to the greenhouse where he decides to get some exercise in. He doesn't really have anything comfortable enough to run in, but he makes due with his school uniform. He leaves the jacket neatly folded by a tree and rolls up his sleeves and pant-legs, and then he jogs laps around the entire greenhouse.]

Fight.. on.... fight....... on.......

[He chants that as he jogs, looking sick from running after just 15 or so minutes.

After running off his inhibitions, he's finally seen in the media room....... watching Teletubbies. He has his legs pulled up on his chair, holding his knees to his chest and his expression is extremely unreadable. He's not sure if he's enjoying it, if he's disturbed, or if he's just watching to think about something other than the smell of burnt flesh. Probably all the above, to be honest. At least it's better than boring science documentary whatever. He's heard enough about science from the crazy robot controlling this place.]

Greenhouse

[Izuku has been making it a pretty regular thing to go to the greenhouse in the morning to train. What he isn't expecting to see is Shigeo already out here, running...and looking like he's about to drop to the ground from exhaustion. He stops near where he left his jacket, waiting for Shigeo to make his way around to him before raising a hand in greeting.] Good morning, Kageyama-kun......are you okay? [You...don't look good fam...]

[hyaku]

[When Shigeo rounds the corner, he's already been running for about thirty minutes by now and he's just.. on the brink of death. He sees Izuku suddenly there by his jacket, but he's learned to never stop running if he wants to get fit so he gives him a wave through his gasps for air as he passes by, ignoring his question entirely.


.....but he doesn't get very far before he just. Collapses onto the greenhouse's floor.

"Okay" is subjective.]

[Izuku jumps, his mouth dropping open as he witnesses Shigeo just...collapse right in front of him. He hurries over to his side, dropping down to one knee beside him while reaching for him at the same time.] K-kageyama-kun!?

[hyaku]

[It's fine this is completely normal for him, honestly. Look at those legs... they're noodles.

That said he doesn't respond immediately, because he has in fact blacked out. Oh wait, no, he's still awake. He lifts his head a little when he hears his name, before letting it fall back down into the ground again.

Now he's out.]

[Fuck. It's been a long time since Izuku has witnessed someone literally collapse from exhaustion like this, mostly because he's usually the one doing it. When he sees Shigeo black out, he quickly drops whatever he'd been carrying and surveys the situation. Thanks to his studying at school he has basic first-aid knowledge, particularly involving helping those injured in city-wide disasters. Shigeo has clearly passed out from both exhaustion and overheating himself, so the only thing he can do in this case is get him inside, laying down while Izuku goes through the motions to try and cool him off while also hopefully getting him to drink something if he wakes back up. He shifts and scoops the other boy up in his arms, one arm under his back and the other at his knees, lifting him up off the ground before turning and quickly jogging back inside. There's nothing like an infirmary here, and Izuku isn't exactly a professional, but he's going to be keeping an eye out for Penny on the way back to the dorms.]

[Well at the very least this time he wasn't with his training club members otherwise he would have pushed himself twice as hard just to try and keep up.. it's still pathetic he passed out after only a half hour of running but that's why he's training in the first place. So he can actually. Run. Without dying.

That said it doesn't take long for him to snap back awake, the rustling of being carried while Izuku hurries down the hall having jostled him enough. Well, really it's just that he only blacked out for a minute but either way he's awake now and.. very confused. One minute he was running now he's being carried bridal style by Izuku....]

U... um...

[His voice is a little hoarse, and he can't actually look up at Izuku's face while he talks to him because he's too embarrassed.]

[mightdoriya]

[The greenhouse is a straight shot back to the common room and, by extension, the dorms, so he's already in the hallway headed to Shigeo's floor by the time the boy in his arms speaks up, causing him to come to a stop and look down at him.] Ah- Kageyama-kun! I'm so glad you're awake...I'm getting you to your room right now, okay? [He's so used to just...being in Hero Mode for situations like this that he doesn't even consider that Shigeo might be embarrassed as he starts walking again, hurrying over to Dorm B2.]

[hyaku]

[Well........... at least this wouldn't be the first time this has happened.

Still, it's even more embarrassing that it's Izuku taking him back to his room of all people. Yeah he promised he'd protect Shigeo and all that but... still..... he should be using his energy doing more important things than taking care of some anemic dumbass who can't run........]

Th..thank you, Midoriya-kun, but I'll be okay. You can put me down if you want to...

[mightdoriya]

[Izuku doesn't reply for a moment, peering down the hallway until he spots the placard beside the door for Shigeo's dorm and heading that way.] You blacked out in the greenhouse. You should probably lay down and rest for a little while... We're almost there, though.

[hyaku]

I can walk.

[He says that but they really are almost there anyway, so he resigns himself to his fate. His legs felt like jello, anyway, so really Izuku was right. He shouldn't push himself too hard like that...]

[mightdoriya]

[That's the thing. If anyone knows anything about pushing themselves too hard...it's Izuku. It's probably why he's insisting on bringing him all this way in the first place. He doesn't put Shigeo down until they've made it to his dorm, setting him down on the edge of his bed after asking which it was. At least from there, Shigeo can choose to either lay down, sit on the edge, or get up. Izuku isn't going anywhere though, not until he's sure he's alright.] I'm going to go get you some water. Will you be okay here?

[hyaku]

Mm.

[Shigeo nods, staying seated at the edge of the bed and thankful there's no one else in the dorms at the moment to see him there. He probably looks like a wimp... it's not wrong but also. Embarrassing...]

Don't worry about me too much, Midoriya-kun. This happens a lot. I'll be okay.

[mightdoriya]

[Less like a wimp and more like he really overdid it, honestly. Izuku doesn't answer, holding up his hand in a "hold that thought" gesture, as he quickly rushes out to get the promised water. When he returns and hands the glass off to Shigeo, he sits down on one of the other beds to talk to him properly.] It's not good to run like that until you feel like you're going to pass out, you know. I had to learn the hard way the kind of damage pushing yourself past your limits can do.

[hyaku]

[Shigeo mutters a small "thank you" when he's handed water, and he immediately takes a sip from it as Izuku takes a seat. He knows it's not good to overwork yourself but at the same time, it's hard not to when you want fast results...]

I can't catch up with the Body Improvement Club if I can't at least run.

[mightdoriya]

[The...Body Improvement Club...] That's true, but...you have to take it slowly. If you start out running as fast as your club mates you'll just keep exhausting yourself and won't make any progress. Do you know how long you can run for before you start getting really tired like that?

[hyaku]

Fifteen minutes.

[mightdoriya]

And how long were you running for earlier?

[hyaku]

....thirty.

[mightdoriya]

Okay then. Next time you run, you should run for twenty minutes and stop. Then the next morning do it again. Keep running for that long until you're no longer tired running that much. Then, run for twenty-five. Soon you'll be able to run for thirty easily that way.

[hyaku]

What about the other members? They can run for an hour without even getting tired...

[He says that in awe, almost.]

[mightdoriya]

Well...it sounds like they've been a part of this club for a while. They probably didn't start running for an hour all in one day. You have to give your body time to catch up.

[hyaku]

[Shigeo is quiet at that, staring into his cup of water at his shoddy reflection. The only reason he's actually in the club is to try and get buff and cool and impress a girl he likes... of course he can't expect that to happen immediately but he thought that if he worked just as hard as the others-- no, twice as hard he'd be able to get just as strong.

But Izuku is... probably right. The other members just kind of keep pushing him past his limit, but he should really honestly pace himself before he dies. Or something.]

...that makes a lot of sense, Midoriya-kun. I'll give it a try.

[He gives Izuku a smile.]

Do you want to work out with me? We could start at something lower than twenty minutes if you need to.

[you look wimpy with clothes on nevermind that izuku carried mob here]

[Izuku's lips quirk in a funny little way at that, and he almost corrects him, but...] I'd love to train with you, Kageyama-kun. I missed having a partner to work with. As for that, um...we can start with however much running you are comfortable with. I'll keep up with you, not the other way around.

[hyaku]

Okay. Don't push yourself either, though.

[He's excited though.. it's more fun to work out with other people than just by yourself and at least if he passes out he'll have someone reliable to make sure he hasn't actually died.]
