[A week has gone and past, as has the first of your number. The Researcher revealing himself, more or less, by punishing Patches, the Trusty, for pushing an unclear boundary.]

[And yet, routine seems to have returned. The Researcher makes morning and evening announcements as if nothing has happened. Meals are served in the dining hall. The copies of Oregon Trail in the computer lab now have a text-only mode for some reason? Penny has not been seen since Friday, and attempts to access the Security Room have been fruitless.]

[But overall, life in the Facility has remained unchanged. But the atmosphere is getting tenser - sooner or later something is going to break.]

GROUP CHALLENGE

“Good afternoon, everyone! All participants, please gather in the dining area, thank you!”

[The announcement goes out an hour or so after lunch; it’s the first time any of the participants has heard from Penny since Friday morning. As they arrive, the Assistant is waiting there patiently for all of them, looking much more chipper than when she fled into the Security office days ago.]

[The cafeteria tables have been rearranged a bit, with a variety of what looks to be baking supplies, up to and including miniature ovens hauled out from who knows where. There are six stations total, three on each side of the room. Banners hang over each side, declaring themselves A and B.]

“Sal-u-tations! Thank you all so much for coming, this is our first Team Challenge!”

[Penny actually claps a little, excited at the prospect.]

“What you’re going to do is separate by teams- that’s the A dorms on one side and B on the other- and then separate into three teamed groups. Each station has a little card-”

[She holds one up to demonstrate. It’s a fairly large, hand-written index card.]

“These all have a simple recipe on them, and directions! Each station is going to make the dessert on their card! There’s no time limit, but the time you take WILL factor in to whichever team wins. Teams will be judged based on all three station groups on their side, so try not to worry too much, work together, and have fun!”

[And after that- the Participants are largely left to their own designs. The setup is more or less exactly as Penny describes it- but it quickly becomes apparent that what she didn’t say was that each station seems to be missing one or more ingredients or tools necessary for their recipe.]

[Better try to borrow that from another station on your team’s side, or find it in the kitchen. Or try to steal it from the other team’s side, if you want to risk it.]

[Izuku frowns, but it's at least more of a thoughtful frown than an irritated one.] That's something, at least. I don't really cook, but I think I might be able to follow a recipe at least. [Baking at least seems easier than most things?]

A CHALLENGER ARRIVES

[It's a liiiittle bit into the competition, when Shigeo notices that his station is missing a very important ingredient.... flour. They're missing flour. He could go into the kitchen to get some more but honestly he's not good with this kind of stuff, so he's worried that he might grab something that looks like flour instead.

He looks over at his other team's stations but.. well.... he's not that close to them and they look like they've got enough on their plate so what does he decide to do?

He decides to walk over to the opposing team, a measuring cup in his hand. And of course he approaches Izuku out of all of them.]

Midoriya-kun, we don't have flour. Can I borrow some?

He goes over the list, making sure they have all their ingrediants]

[He at least looks like he knows what he's doing.]

[Ah...a team-building exercise. Yaiba's been tasked with many in his time; it's something that comes with being in a band full of disasters, and a manager that would rather you didn't all try to stab each other each week.

As one of the aforementioned disasters, he's not...entirely sure what to do. And so, in this situation he asks himself: what would a real man with a full-time job do?

With that in mind, Yaiba takes the card with a flourish and speaks to whoever else is at his station.]

Hence! What is required is Legend of Division of Labour, the method of splitting tasks between members of the workforce!

[And with that- he shifts his glasses.]

I will bear the title of breaker of eggs, hence, with my experience of model construction, I therefore have the gentle touch to avoid the consequence of poorly broken eggs.

[Before he even begins trying to figure out this dessert challenge, Spy goes to Penny.]

Spy gets manhandled back to the kitchen, but not without a lot of whining.]

Get your hands off of me, you horrible reptilian! This suit costs more than you can even begin to comprehend.

[He huffs and wipes nonexistent dust off the front of his lapels.]

Fine. I'll play this game, for now. What are we supposed to be making?

[Penny gives a cheerful wave as Spy approaches, at least. She's happy to answer any questions about the challenge, which this obviously is.]
